Xbox Game Pass is getting another library refresh in October, and this time several notable games are on their way out.
Starting October 15, 2026, nine games will leave the Game Pass catalogue, including Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Evil West and The Casting of Frank Stone.
If any of these games have been sitting on your backlog, now is a good time to give them a try before they leave.
Which Games Are Leaving Xbox Game Pass?
The following games are scheduled to leave Game Pass on October 15:
A Plague Tale: Requiem
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Crime Scene Cleaner
Donut County
Evil West
Pacific Drive
The Casting of Frank Stone
Nova Roma
Superball
The list includes games from several different genres, so there is plenty to choose from depending on what you feel like playing.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
The biggest name on the list is arguably Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
This stylish RPG combines turn based combat with real time actions such as dodges and parries. The story follows Expedition 33 as they set out on a mission to stop the Paintress.
If you have had this one sitting in your Game Pass library waiting for the right moment, October 15 is the date to keep in mind.
A Plague Tale: Requiem
A Plague Tale: Requiem continues the story of Amicia and Hugo in a plague ravaged medieval world.
The game combines stealth, exploration, puzzles and intense encounters with huge swarms of rats.
It is a story focused adventure that can be a great choice if you are looking for something you can finish before the game leaves the service.
Crime Scene Cleaner
Crime Scene Cleaner takes a very different approach.
Instead of investigating crimes, your job is to clean up the aftermath. The game combines first person gameplay with exploration, cleaning and a dark sense of humour.
If you prefer smaller and more unusual experiences, this one is worth checking out before October 15.
Donut County
Looking for something lighter?
In Donut County, you control a growing hole in the ground and swallow objects scattered around the environment.
What starts with small objects gradually turns into something much bigger as the hole grows.
It is a short and unusual experience that can easily fit into a few gaming sessions.
Evil West
Evil West mixes third person action with a Wild West setting filled with supernatural enemies.
You play as a vampire hunter equipped with guns, melee weapons and special abilities.
If you enjoy fast paced combat and action games, Evil West is another title worth checking out before it leaves Game Pass.
Pacific Drive
Pacific Drive puts you behind the wheel in a strange and dangerous version of the Pacific Northwest.
Your car is more than just transportation. It becomes your main tool for surviving the mysterious environment.
The game combines driving, exploration, resource management and survival mechanics, making it quite different from a traditional racing or driving game.
The Casting of Frank Stone
If you are already thinking about Halloween, The Casting of Frank Stone could be an interesting choice.
Set in the world of Dead by Daylight, the game is a cinematic horror adventure where your decisions can influence the story and the fate of its characters.
It is particularly suited to players who enjoy narrative driven games and horror.
Nova Roma
Nova Roma is a city building and strategy game available through Game Pass on PC.
You take control of a settlement and work towards building a new Roman society, managing resources, infrastructure and the needs of your population.
If you enjoy strategy and management games, this could be a good one to try before it leaves.
Superball
Superball is also scheduled to leave on October 15.
It is the ninth title included in the current October departure list, although its Game Pass availability differs from the other games on the list.
If you have it installed or have been meaning to try it, it is worth checking your Game Pass library before the removal date.
What Happens When a Game Leaves Game Pass?
When a game leaves Game Pass, you can no longer play it through the subscription unless you purchase it or have another form of access.
If you have already started playing one of these games, purchasing it allows you to continue your progress rather than starting over.
Game Pass members can also receive discounts on games while they are included in the catalogue, although the exact discount can vary by title.
What Should You Play First?
There is no need to limit yourself to one game.
If you want a big RPG, start with Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
For a story driven adventure, A Plague Tale: Requiem is worth checking out.
If you want fast action, try Evil West.
For horror, The Casting of Frank Stone fits the October mood.
And if you want something more unusual, Donut County or Pacific Drive offer very different experiences.
The important date is October 15, 2026, so you still have time to explore the list and decide what deserves a place on your weekend gaming schedule.
Xbox Game Pass Is Always Changing
Games leaving the service are only one part of the Game Pass cycle. New games are added regularly, meaning the catalogue is constantly changing.

Final Thoughts
October is bringing some notable changes to the Xbox Game Pass library.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Evil West, The Casting of Frank Stone and five other games are scheduled to leave on October 15.
If any of them are already on your backlog, this is a good time to finally give them a try.
You do not necessarily need to finish everything before October 15. Even a few hours can be enough to discover whether a game is something you want to purchase and continue playing after it leaves Game Pass.
And once these games leave, there will be more additions arriving to keep the Game Pass library moving forward.
